As an Interviewee (someone being interviewed)

As someone being interviewed, you don't need to pay for a Talk Story subscription or even have a Talk Story account. You will need a Dropbox account to share your videos with your loved ones.

Pre-Interview Steps

  1. You'll receive an email invitation from us here at talkstory.app indicating that you've been invited to participate in a Talk Story interview.
  2. Once you Accept a Talk Story interview invitation, sit patiently as our systems prepare your interview.
  3. *If you don't have a Dropbox account, this would be a great time to follow Install Dropbox on your mobile device and Create a Dropbox account.
  4. Within 24 hours, you should receive an email from Dropbox indicating that your Interviewer is sharing a Dropbox folder with you. This folder is where you'll upload your videos to share with your Interviewer. Accept this sharing request. You must Accept a Dropbox shared folder request before continuing, otherwise you won't have anywhere to upload your videos to. Make sure to accept the shared folder request with your newly created account.
  5. After you've accepted the share folder request, check your email as your interview instructions should also have arrived. If you don't get one, please do contact us. Contained in your first email, you should also see the first question of your Talk Story interview. Over the course of the next few months, you'll be receiving emails from us that include questions along with prompts to help you along.

Interview Steps

  1. During the course of the interview, you'll receive an email with a question that's been curated by your Interviewer.
  2. Create a Talk Story video or Create a Talk Story audio clip on your mobile device or desktop answering the question.
  3. Once you've created a media story, Share a Talk Story video with your interviewer. Once you've uploaded the video story, you'll be sent a new question.
  4. If any question is too difficult to answer, read how to Skip a Talk Story question.
  5. Once all questions have been asked and answered, we'll send you a summary of your Interview.
